SEO Copywriting is Never Boring!

January 24th, 2010 by admin No comments »

A lot of people ask me, “Don’t you ever get bored writing subjects that you’re not passionate about?” My answer is always the same, “Heck no! Writing is my life.”

You see, I’ve been writing since I was 12. I can’t imagine how the craft could ever be boring. To me, it doesn’t matter what I am writing about. Every time I write for a new industry I expand my knowledge, my vocabulary, and my portfolio.

Why would I turn down the opportunity to learn, ever?

I’ve had a ton of fun writing about brake pads, short sales, exotic wood species, and even paint.

Writing is not a fast and easy way to make a living. It’s hard work that I take seriously. I also have fun with it, too.

The most rewarding part about Internet copy writing (aka SEO copywriting)? The results.

The feeling of checking the first page results for a keyword and seeing my client’s company on the first page is pretty awesome.

It vindicates what I do and helps people understand the true value of having a local copywriter who actually “gets” what your business is all about.

Goodbye 2009!

HELLO 2010!

This past year was definitely a memorable one. I certainly hope you had a good one. 2010 is shaping up to be a great one too.

Here’s to a happy and healthy start for you and your loved ones!

SEO Copywriting – Rules to Write By

November 15th, 2009 by admin No comments »

Rule #1 – Never…ever….EVER…think you can stop learning. I’ve written for clients and thought, “This is the greatest copy I’ve ever written.” Only to read it later and think, “Wow. I am doing WAY better now than I was before.”

How do you get better?

Read, read, read. I make it a point to learn from the best in the business.  It’s not about asking questions all the time, it’s about asking the RIGHT questions that will reveal the tried and true methods. What are they doing to make their copy better? What is it about their vision that makes what they write “click” all the time? The answers to these questions help my job to make visitors to your website, customers that much easier. If all I did was write all day, the odds that I’d miss something that could boost your sales increases by the day.

With Google changing and Bing rising, having copy that speaks to both the SEs and your target audience is even more critical. They change and so do good copywriters.

Happy Birthday, Lucas!

October 27th, 2009 by admin No comments »

I just wanted to take a moment to wish my son Lucas a Happy First Birthday!

I could go into all the cliches about how “time flies” and whatnot, BUT….while that’s all true, no words can describe the feeling of singing “Happy Birthday” to your child for the very first time.

Being a dad is just…awesome!

Sick child = lack of blog updates

October 4th, 2009 by admin No comments »

Ugh. Recently, Lucas was diagnosed with childhood asthma. It runs in the family, so it wasn’t a surprise. The surprise happens when he battles an infection for the past month while also battling asthma.

With the swine flu going around…it also makes us nervous.

So, with work and family taking precedent, I haven’t had a chance to update the blog. Sorry.

We’re taking him to see a Pulmonary specialist tomorrow…wish us luck!

Hire a blog writer

September 17th, 2009 by admin No comments »

Many businesses have blogs. However, most of those businesses never use them. And, those that do, often find themselves writing posts that don’t draw the interest of their target customer.

Even though I am a Florida copywriter, I write blogs for company’s all over the country. I don’t update mine a lot because I’m writing on other company blogs.

If you don’t have a blog, I can set up one for you in no time at all.

How do you get started?

The Trouble with Copywriting & SEO Content Experts

September 3rd, 2009 by admin No comments »

The more research I do, the more it seems as if there are a whole bunch of people who profess to know everything there is to know about Search Engine Optimization. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from all this research (besides the fact that many “experts” have very thin skin), it’s that no one really has all the knowledge, or the answers (well, maybe except for Google!). There is no SEO Holy Grail!

The truth is, the rules can change on a dime. Staying on top takes continuous effort. Take a look at some of the top websites and the competition that may be outranking you on certain keywords or key phrases. None of the those sites are stagnant. There is always new an interesting content to being promoted or new pages written. There’s a good reason for that…the search engines like it!

It takes hard work for websites to be successful. Thankfully, I have been fortunate enough to learn from some very smart people about SEO and even they would tell you that they don’t know everything.

At Florida SEO Writer, our first goal is to understand your business so that we can write SEO content that will increase traffic, leads, and compel people to use you, or purchase your products.

Florida business owners and budding entrepreneur, we are here for you. We create the content that compels potential customers to purchase your products or to use your services.

If you’re looking for a complete Search Engine Optimization service in Florida, I can’t recommend Melissa Fach and SEOAware highly enough.

Music to Write To…

August 31st, 2009 by admin No comments »

One of my biggest inspirations has been music. Growing up in the Bronx, there was no escaping it. KRS-One blasting in a crunchy old Honda with brand new speakers…Marc Anthony blasting out of an old lady’s window in 95 degree heat…Pearl Jam rocking out of my old Aiwa speakers…

Whenever my house isn’t playing music I think it’s safe to say that things feel out of place.

I’ll spare you the cliches…I will, however, share with you some music that I really, really love…

Explosions in the Sky

An instrumental “post-rock” group out of Austin, TX. You might have heard some of their music on Friday Night Lights (the movie and TV show) and, I think, a Cadillac commercial. I met these guys once before a show right after 9/11 in New York City. They were the nicest people and we talked about how vulnerable the country was at that time…I’ll never forget how awesome it was to hear “The Moon is Down” that night…amazing. Now, whenever I am copywriting, I have to hear one of their songs…that’s not the most memorable moment for me though…

A few days Lucas was just born, I held his tiny little 6lb body in my arms and swayed to “Your Hand in Mine.” I cried so much…

I DARE you to try and listen to that song without being moved…it’s impossible…

They’re also a helluva live act too…here’s another of my faves from them “The Catastrophe & the Cure”….enjoy…

Why Having Unique Content for your site is important

August 29th, 2009 by admin No comments »

Having unique content on your site gives your business a greater chance getting on the first page of Google, Yahoo and Bing. Hiring a copywriter that constantly creates new and interesting content for your site can also ensure that your business has a better chance of staying on top as well.

But, what makes up unique content? While I could go on and on about this subject, I think the guys at SEOmoz do a much better job breaking it down why unique seo content is a critical part of having a sustainable and lead generating website…
