SEO Copywriting is Never Boring!

January 24th, 2010

A lot of people ask me, “Don’t you ever get bored writing subjects that you’re not passionate about?” My answer is always the same, “Heck no! Writing is my life.”

You see, I’ve been writing since I was 12. I can’t imagine how the craft could ever be boring. To me, it doesn’t matter what I am writing about. Every time I write for a new industry I expand my knowledge, my vocabulary, and my portfolio.

Why would I turn down the opportunity to learn, ever?

I’ve had a ton of fun writing about brake pads, short sales, exotic wood species, and even paint.

Writing is not a fast and easy way to make a living. It’s hard work that I take seriously. I also have fun with it, too.

The most rewarding part about Internet copy writing (aka SEO copywriting)? The results.

The feeling of checking the first page results for a keyword and seeing my client’s company on the first page is pretty awesome.

It vindicates what I do and helps people understand the true value of having a local copywriter who actually “gets” what your business is all about.

Happy New Year!

December 28th, 2009

Goodbye 2009!

HELLO 2010!

This past year was definitely a memorable one. I certainly hope you had a good one. 2010 is shaping up to be a great one too.

Here’s to a happy and healthy start for you and your loved ones!

Happy Birthday, Lucas!

October 27th, 2009

I just wanted to take a moment to wish my son Lucas a Happy First Birthday!

I could go into all the cliches about how “time flies” and whatnot, BUT….while that’s all true, no words can describe the feeling of singing “Happy Birthday” to your child for the very first time.

Being a dad is just…awesome!

Sick child = lack of blog updates

October 4th, 2009

Ugh. Recently, Lucas was diagnosed with childhood asthma. It runs in the family, so it wasn’t a surprise. The surprise happens when he battles an infection for the past month while also battling asthma.

With the swine flu going around…it also makes us nervous.

So, with work and family taking precedent, I haven’t had a chance to update the blog. Sorry.

We’re taking him to see a Pulmonary specialist tomorrow…wish us luck!

Music to Write To…

August 31st, 2009

One of my biggest inspirations has been music. Growing up in the Bronx, there was no escaping it. KRS-One blasting in a crunchy old Honda with brand new speakers…Marc Anthony blasting out of an old lady’s window in 95 degree heat…Pearl Jam rocking out of my old Aiwa speakers…

Whenever my house isn’t playing music I think it’s safe to say that things feel out of place.

I’ll spare you the cliches…I will, however, share with you some music that I really, really love…

Explosions in the Sky

An instrumental “post-rock” group out of Austin, TX. You might have heard some of their music on Friday Night Lights (the movie and TV show) and, I think, a Cadillac commercial. I met these guys once before a show right after 9/11 in New York City. They were the nicest people and we talked about how vulnerable the country was at that time…I’ll never forget how awesome it was to hear “The Moon is Down” that night…amazing. Now, whenever I am copywriting, I have to hear one of their songs…that’s not the most memorable moment for me though…

A few days Lucas was just born, I held his tiny little 6lb body in my arms and swayed to “Your Hand in Mine.” I cried so much…

I DARE you to try and listen to that song without being moved…it’s impossible…

They’re also a helluva live act too…here’s another of my faves from them “The Catastrophe & the Cure”….enjoy…
